Patriot system shot down 15 Russian Daggers in a year: the Air Force provided details
The Patriot anti-aircraft missile system has already shot down 15 Russian Dagger missiles in Ukraine. In general, there are currently not enough of these systems in our country.
Yuriy Ihnat, spokesman for the Air Force of Ukraine, said this during a national telethon . He reminded that these systems can shoot down ballistic missiles and aeroballistic missiles such as the Kinzhal.
"On May 4, the first "Kinzhal" X-47, an M2 missile, was shot down. Thus, the countdown continues... The countdown started from this time," noted the spokesman.
He also added that compared to last year, Ukraine has a large number of other air defense systems.
As a reminder, on December 14, Ukrainian air defense systems shot down an X-47M Kinzhal air defense missile in Kyiv.
In October 2023, investigators from the Russian publication The Insider reported that defense contractors who produce the most dangerous of Russia's Kinzhal guided missiles have not yet been sanctioned by the West. Therefore, they continue to import the necessary materials from the European Union.
After the large-scale invasion, the Rostec state corporation increased the production of Kinzhal missiles, which cost Moscow $10 million per missile.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, Ihnat also said that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the terrorist state Russia has launched more than 7,500 missiles against Ukraine. These are all types: aircraft, anti-aircraft, S-300, cruise and ballistic missiles.
