The Russian military is taking children from the occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region to the Russian countryside thousands of kilometers away from home for "re-education". They are going to be "brainwashed" in Chuvashia and other remote regions of the Russian Federation, listening to the explanation of the "special operation" and its "veterans".
This was told by the mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov on the air of the TV marathon on August 6. According to him, the invaders continue to pressure parents and children in several directions. They go door-to-door looking for those who refuse to give their children to Russian schools.
Such parents are threatened with deprivation of parental rights. In addition, the occupants took 250 Ukrainian children to the Russian Federation and placed them in new families under the guise of adoption.
"They also try to send children to camps, but these are not health camps at all, because we have examples when they send our children to Chuvashia and somewhere else, which is 1300 or even 2000 kilometers away. They openly say that they will talk about the details of the 'SMO' and its veterans. In other words, brainwash our children," Fedorov said.
He added that the occupiers are also trying to take a group of children to Evpatoria, but their parents are resisting.
"We also see a tendency that they are trying to take a group to Evpatoria as well, but parents resist and do not let their children go, because they know examples when children did not return. They continue to press on the children, so we urge all of them to leave the temporarly occupied regions as soon as possible and we are ready to help in this," the mayor of Melitopol said.
He said that only in the last two months hundreds of children from the Zaporizhzhia region were sent "to rest" 1600 km away in Chuvashia, 1400 km away to Saratov region, as well as 1200 km away to Penza for participation in "Unarmia" with the representatives of the "military-patriotic" meeting of the Gvardeets Volga Federal District.
