Occupants attacked Ukraine with missiles, "Daggers" were launched: explosions in Kyiv and the region, air defense forces were working

On the morning of Thursday, March 21, Russian troops launched a massive attack on Ukraine using various types of missiles, including ballistic missiles. Air defense forces shot down 31 missiles, causing damage, fires, and casualties.

An air alert was issued in all regions around 03:30. Military administrations urged citizens to stay in shelters.

During the night, the Ukrainian Air Force reported the movement of enemy missiles in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, and Rivne regions.

It was noted that Russian troops launched cruise missiles from Tu-95 strategic bombers, as well as used X-59 and X-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles.

"Missiles in the airspace of Zhytomyr and Rivne regions, constantly changing course," the military informed.

Around 05:00, explosions occurred in Kyiv and Kyiv region. Air defense systems were working on enemy targets, destroying about 30 missiles.

However, the falling debris damaged houses, a kindergarten, and warehouses in several districts, and set cars and a transformer substation on fire. Thirteen people were injured in Kyiv, including a child, and four people were injured in Kyiv region.

At 06:10, the Air Force announced that the missile threat to all regions of Ukraine had been lifted. According to the KIA, about 30 missiles, including ballistic missiles, were shot down by air defense forces over Kyiv and on the approach to the capital.

During this attack, the defenders of the sky shot down all the missiles over Kyiv region – two Iskander-M (KN-23)/Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles and 29 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the aggressor country Russia has taken its strategic aviation into the sky. About 9 Tu-95 bombers took off from the Olenya airfield (Murmansk region). Soon after, cruise missiles were launched, and an air alert was declared throughout Ukraine.
