More than 40 explosions: details of the attack by DIU drones on the seaport and oil refinery in Tuapse, Russia, emerge

On the night of February 26, units of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU), together with other Ukrainian defense forces, attacked the Tuapse Oil Refinery and the local seaport in Tuapse, Krasnodar Territory, Russia. At least 40 explosions were heard at the facility.

The attack caused a large-scale fire and damaged the refinery's equipment. This was reported to OBOZ.UA by its own sources.

It is noted that the authorities of the terrorist state recognized the fact of the attack on Tuapse, while local residents publish photos and videos of the consequences of the damage and report an attack on the local seaport.

The affected facilities play a significant role in the military logistics of the Russian occupation army. The oil terminal in Tuapse is one of the largest in the country, and the local port is a key transportation hub on the Black Sea. It is integrated with the railroad network, which allows for the transportation of goods from the central and southern regions of the Russian Federation.

According to the Center for Countering Disinformation, this port is of strategic importance for the Russian army. Equipment, ammunition, and fuel are transported through it, as well as logistical support for the Black Sea Fleet ships participating in the war against Ukraine.

Details on the extent of the damage and the consequences of the attack are currently being clarified.

As a reminder, on the night of Wednesday, February 26, explosions were reported in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation, and Anapa, Tuapse and other settlements in the region were uneasy. Sochi airport was closed due to a drone attack, and the "Carpet" plan was introduced there.
