On the night of September 1, Ukraine attacked Russia with drones: the attack in Russia has already been called the "largest" in the entire war. Explosions were heard in 15 Russian regions at night, and the Russian Defense Ministry announced the "downing" of 158 aircraft-type drones.

However, despite the bravura statements of the Russian side, some drones did reach their targets, including a metallurgical plant, three cement plants, and a military unit of the airborne troops. This was reported by the Russian publication Vazhnye Istori.

As a result of the night attack, the so-called Russian defense ministry announced the "destruction and interception" of 158 Ukrainian drones over 15 regions of Russia.

Although the Russian Ministry of Defense traditionally does not mention the drones that reached their targets, Vazhnye Istoryi determined where the "cotton" was at night by analyzing a NASA fire map.

"At night, satellites recorded temperature anomalies on the territory of the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant (NLMK), a military unit of the 106th Airborne Division in Tula, and three cement plants in the Kaluga and Moscow regions. They could have been targeted by drones, but there are no photos or videos to confirm this," the publication said.

For example, journalists counted more than ten fires on NLMK's territory, although the Russian Defense Ministry reported only four drones shot down over the Lipetsk region.

Also, the governor of the region, Igor Artamonov, boasted about the destruction of the UAV over the "industrial zone of Lipetsk" at night.

This is not the first time NLMK has been attacked by drones. It was previously attacked on June 30 this year.

And in the center of another Russian regional center, Tula, temperature anomalies were recorded on the territory of a unit of the 106th Airborne Division.

"Around 3:40 a hundred meters from the military facility, 'sheds were on fire,' Tula channel wrote. Emergency incident". Three unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down over the region at night, the Defense Ministry said," the publication notes.

Vazhlye Istoryy also reported on alleged fires at cement plants in Voskresensk and Kolomna, Moscow Region, as well as at the Ferzykovsky cement plant near Kaluga.

"All of these enterprises belong to the Holsim company, which owns four cement plants in Russia. In 2022, Holsim, the Russian subsidiary of a Swiss group of companies, was the target of a raider attack," Important Stories reminds us.

But the damage caused by Russia as a result of the night attack by the Defense Forces is not limited to this.

In the Kapotnya district of Moscow, drones attacked a refinery. According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the UAVs hit a "technical room," and the fire was allegedly localized by 11 a.m.

And videos have been posted online showing strikes on the Konakovo power plant in the Tver region, where a fire broke out, which, according to local governor Igor Rudeny, has already been extinguished.

The Kashirskaya power plant in the Moscow region was also attacked. According to the head of the district, Mikhail Shuvalov, there was no fire there because of the attack.

As a reminder, on the morning of September 1 , the Russian Federation complained about the attack of almost 150 drones on Moscow and the regions. Last night, it was loud in 15 Russian regions, including Moscow.

In particular, the Kashirskaya and Konakovo SDPPs in Russia were hit , fires broke out at both of them, and a refinery in Moscow was also hit.
