French President Emmanuel Macron is allegedly considering the scenario of sending troops to Ukraine if the Russian occupiers manage to break through the front towards Odesa or Kyiv. The president spoke about this with the leaders of the country's main political parties at a meeting organized on March 7.

Macron convened politicians to discuss the line of support for Ukraine. This was reported by L'Indépendant.

National Secretary of the Communist Party of France Fabien Roussel noted that Macron mentioned a scenario that "could initiate an intervention." It is about the advancement of the occupiers "towards Odesa or Kyiv."

A representative of the French opposition, Manuel Bompard, leader of the left-wing party La France Insoumise, said that he came to the meeting concerned and that he "left it even more concerned."

As a reminder, at the meeting with representatives of political parties, Macron claimed that Paris had no "red lines" in supporting Kyiv.

In response, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, "Mr. Macron is convinced of his policy aimed at inflicting a strategic defeat on our country, and he continues to increase the level of direct French involvement."

As reported, European countries have not reached a consensus on the idea of sending troops to Ukraine. Macron explained that at a meeting with representatives of partner countries on February 26, he only admitted such a possibility. "This does not mean that we are considering sending French troops to Ukraine in the near future... We are opening debates and thinking about everything we can do to support Ukraine, especially on Ukrainian territory," the French leader said.
