Kuleba discusses with Norwegian Foreign Minister prospects for expanding the coalition of fighter jets: what was agreed upon
Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba had a phone conversation with his Norwegian counterpart Espen Barth Eide. Among other things, the parties discussed the possibility of expanding the F-16 fighter jet initiative and involving new countries in the "peace formula."
Kuleba reported this on the social network X. The Ukrainian minister thanked Norway for its contribution to the coalition to provide Ukraine with F-16s and noted that both sides had considered ways to expand this initiative.
"We discussed the expansion of this initiative," he stated.
Further steps to involve new countries in the process of implementing the "peace formula" were also agreed upon.
Kuleba emphasized the importance of Norway's efforts to increase assistance to Ukraine and its decision to take additional steps to strengthen the Ukrainian energy system.
To recap, Norway is allocating an additional NOK 1 billion to finance air defense systems in Ukraine. This amounts to almost $93 million.
It is worth noting that the announcement of the allocation of funds came a day after Norway promised to provide Ukraine with six F-16 fighter jets.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, this fall, Norway and Germany will jointly transfer a battery of IRIS-T air defense systems to Ukraine. It will significantly strengthen Ukrainian air defense.
