It can save lives: Ukraine created an invisibility cloak for the military, camouflaging from thermal imaging cameras. Video

The head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation called the invention a "technology of victory"

Ukraine has created an invisibility cloak for the Defense Forces. The development makes the defenders invisible to Russian thermal imagers and drones with thermal imaging cameras.

This was announced on October 4 by the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov on his Telegram channel. He also posted a video of a finished sample of the cloak, which has been successfully tested in the field (to view photos and video, scroll to the end of the news).

The minister called the invention from Brave1, a state cluster created to develop military technologies, a "technology of victory."

"Ukrainians have created a defense tool against Russian thermal imagers and drones with thermal imaging cameras. The cloak blocks heat radiation and makes fighters invisible to the enemy. For example, our snipers or SOF group performing combat missions," said the head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

According to Fedorov, the invisibility cloak is compact and lightweight as it weighs up to 2.5 kg. At the same time, it has high protection against rain and sleet, does not burn, and protects against high temperatures .

"The invisibility cloak is just one of the developments that will help save the lives of our military at the front. We need even more," the minister said and called on those working on defense projects to submit them through the Brave1 platform.
