In Volgograd and Astrakhan there is a "movement": Russians complain about explosions near the refinery and lack of electricity. Video

Volgograd had a hit

On the night of February 3, residents of the Russian city of Volgograd counted at least 50 explosions during a drone attack and air defense operations. The power went out in several areas of the city, and at about 01:00 (Kyiv time) there were reports of a fire. In addition, the Astrakhan region of the aggressor country also came under attack by UAVs.

Russian propaganda outlets claimed that the target of Ukrainian UAVs in Volgograd was a local oil refinery owned by Lukoil. OBOZ.UA has learned from its own sources that this drone attack on the Volgograd refinery (Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka) and the Astrakhan gas processing plant was a joint effort of the Security Service and the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine.

During the attack, footage of fire trucks driving through the city and the smoke from the fire was shown.

As of 01:00 (Kyiv time), there was no information about the victims.

In addition to the power outage for several hours, residents of the Russian city also complained about Internet interruptions and a "jammed" GPS.

The governor of the region described the incident as "short-term power surges." According to him, "most of the UAVs were intercepted and neutralized, and there were no casualties."

Online, it was reported that the debris had fallen on the roof of one of the cottages (its residents were hiding downstairs, so they were not injured).

"NASA satellites after the arrival of drones recorded two large-scale fires and about 10 small flare-ups at the LUKOIL Volgogradneftepererabotka plant," the Crimean Wind monitoring group confirmed the hit to the Volgograd refinery.

The explosions were also heard in Russia's Astrakhan region, confirmed by the governor. According to him, kamikaze drones attacked fuel and energy facilities in the region. A fire broke out at a gas processing plant.

"Last night, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted a drone attack on facilities located in the region, including the fuel and energy sector. The electronic warfare and air defense systems worked as usual. One of the UAVs caught fire when it fell. There were no casualties," said Ihor Babushkin.

Media reports say that the UAVs hit three units of the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant, and the plant has been shut down. Employees managed to hide in a bomb shelter. A gas pipeline was also attacked.

As OBOZ.UA previously wrote, on the morning of January 15, a powerful fire broke out in Volgograd on the territory of the Lukoil oil refinery, a huge column of fire rose there. The Russians claimed that the fire was "not related to any external influence."
