In Sumy, a Shahed hit a parking lot near a house: many cars were damaged and windows were smashed. Photos and videos

On the evening of Sunday, February 9, Russian occupation forces attacked Sumy with Shahed-type attack UAVs. According to preliminary data, the enemy drone hit a parking lot in front of a residential building.

This was reported by acting mayor Artem Kobzar on his Facebook page. According to him, cars are on fire, and windows in people's apartments are smashed.

Explosions were heard in the city around 23:00. Air alert has been declared in most regions of Ukraine due to the threat of enemy use of attack UAVs.

"Unfortunately, the Shahed arrived again. A lot of cars are damaged. The State Emergency Service, police, and ambulance are working at the scene. A lot of windows have been smashed," said the mayor.

Volodymyr Artyukh, the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, clarified that the arrival occurred in a residential area. There are houses and schools around. Rescue services are currently making rounds in the apartments.

Three houses and 15 cars were damaged in the city. Six cars were on fire. "We are looking for the injured people in their apartments," he added.

The SES later clarified that the fire in the parking lot in Sumy was extinguished. Preliminarily, there were no fatalities or injuries.

Sumy City Council reports that 15 cars and windows in three buildings on Armed Forces of Ukraine Street and Zalyvna Street have been damaged. One of them is currently out of gas supply.

It is also noted that gas workers "are ready to start work on restoring the supply of natural gas in the morning."

According to Suspilne, at night, rescuers set up a tent near the site of the Shahed hit. According to them, about 10 people have come to them since then.

Later, they showed what the house and parking lot look like after being hit by an enemy UAV.

"This is how the house and the parking lot near it look like in the morning, where a Russian "Shahed" hit on the evening of February 9," the statement reads.

As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, over the past week, the enemy used more than 1,260 air bombs, almost 750 attack drones, and more than 10 missiles of various types to attack Ukrainian cities.
