A $500 drone destroys occupiers' $100 million Buk-M1-2 SAM in Luhansk region. Video

Ukrainian defenders destroyed another expensive piece of equipment of the Russian occupation army in Luhansk region. A $500 FPV drone hit a Russian Buk-M1-2 anti-aircraft missile system worth about $100 million.
The spectacular video was posted on Telegram by Yuriy Fedorenko, commander of the Achilles strike company of the 92nd Ivan Sirko Brigade. It was his soldiers who used a UAV to take down the deadly machine (to watch the video, scroll to the end of the news).
The Buk-M1-2 SAM is designed to destroy strategic and tactical aircraft, cruise missiles, helicopters and other airborne objects, i.e. it is used as an air defence system and can also be a tactical missile defence module.
As a reminder, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in July 2023, the Defence Forces inflicted devastating losses on the enemy army. In just a month, the ranks of the Russian invaders became 18,000 fewer. The enemy's arsenal of equipment also suffered enormous damage. Most of these armoured vehicles are beyond repair, which is a significant blow to Russia's defence industry.
In addition, on 1 August, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Defence Forces destroyed a heavy flamethrower system TOS-1A "Solntsepek", in addition, 5 artillery pieces at firing positions, 2 electronic warfare stations, an ammunition depot and 5 enemy areas were also destroyed.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL:
- Kara Dag assault units entered positions previously held by the Russian occupiers and found a large amount of ammunition. The military noted that the large amount of ammunition did not correspond to the Russian invaders' claim of "shell hunger";
- in late July, Ukrainian defenders destroyed an enemy Buk system that was covering Russian troops in one of the frontline areas. Only five minutes after the discovery, the transport and reloading vehicle and radar station were blown up.
