A prominent Ukrainian scientist and surgeon, Pavlo Vasylovych Ivanchov, was killed in a nighttime shelling of the Kyiv region. His life was dedicated to medicine, in particular, he was a co-author of about 200 scientific papers.

This was reported by Yevhen Lisnytsia. "Last night, as a result of Russian aggression, Pavlo Vasylovych Ivanchov, a prominent Ukrainian scientist, head of the clinical base and responsible for the medical work of the Surgery Department No. 3 of the Kyiv City Clinical Emergency Hospital, tragically died," the statement said.

It is noted that Pavlo Ivanchov co-authored almost 200 scientific papers, received 21 patents for inventions, wrote a textbook, a scientific manual and a monograph. His contribution to tumor surgery is invaluable.

"I don't know how many lives he saved, but the lives of my uncle and aunt are definitely among them. He performed stomach surgery on both of them. In a few weeks, my father was to be on his operating table. I understand that every life is precious, but the lives of many patients depended on Ivanchov - both those he had already saved and those who were yet to be diagnosed. Eternal memory and honor to the man who devoted his life to saving others," Lisnytsia added.

As a reminder, a fire broke out in a two-story private house in the Bucha district of Kyiv region on February 25 as a result of an enemy drone attack: rescuers found the body of a woman, and later it became known that another person had died. In the same area, a 19-year-old girl was injured in the attack, she suffered a head wound and was hospitalized.
