Google shows the location of Ukrainian military systems on updated maps
The American public transnational corporation Google has updated its Google Maps, including Ukraine, which worked in favor of the aggressor country Russia. The images of the territory showed the location of Ukrainian military systems.
Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, wrote about this on his Telegram channel on November 3. According to him, experts have already contacted the company, but have not received a quick response.
"Imagine the situation. Google posts updated images on maps that show the location of our military systems (I will not specify). We contact them to fix it quickly, but it's their weekend. They have no time for this," the representative of the Center for Countering Disinformation noted.
According to him, the Russians are already actively distributing these images online.
"What is wrong with this world?" Kovalenko asked rhetorically.
Later, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation said that after the public reaction, Google said that they were already working to correct the situation with the images.
"After the public reaction, Google representatives contacted us and said that they are already working on correcting the situation with the images of our military systems.
In the future, we will also discuss how to solve any problems quickly," Kovalenko added.
Earlier it was reported that Google has stopped registering new accounts for some Russian phone numbers. The restrictions are associated with the new US sanctions, which prohibit IT companies from providing services in Russia since September 12.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized the United States for leaking data on Ukraine's arms requests. The relevant material appeared in the NYT, where the publication disclosed details of the confidential part of Ukraine's Victory Plan.
