War in Ukraine
Fire is still raging at the facilities: the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces provided details of the damage to the Ilsky oil refinery and "Kropotkinskaya" oil pumping station
A fire continued to burn at the Ilsky oil refinery in the Krasnodar region of Russia, which was struck by drones from the SOF and SSU on the night of February 17, as of Monday evening. The "Kropotkinskaya" oil pumping station was also severely damaged and suspended its operations.
The details were shared by the press service of the Special Operations Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The military noted that both targets are enterprises important for the military-industrial complex and logistics of the aggressor country.
About 20 explosions were heard in the area of the Ilsky oil refinery. This refinery is located in an urban village of the same name about 400 kilometers from the territory controlled by the Ukrainian army.
"A fire is still raging at the facility," the press service wrote at 16:20 on Monday, February 17.
The refinery, which supplies fuel to the Russian army, has six refining units with a capacity of 6.6 million tons per year. This month, Ukrainian drones have already shelled this target.
Another facility, which was spotted by the SOF and SSU drones, has stopped working altogether. The enemy has to pump oil bypassing the "Kropotkinskaya" station at minimal speed.
"Such facilities not only supply fuel to the Russian army but also directly finance the war against Ukraine at the expense of oil revenues," the military noted.
They called the successful operation "the accuracy that changes the course of the war". The Special Operations Forces soldiers promised to continue such attacks.
