Do Ukrainians believe that the time for negotiations with Russia has come and are they ready to agree to Putin's terms: poll results

44% of residents of rear Ukraine believe that the time has come for official negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. However, most Ukrainians are not ready to accept the terms of Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin to end the war.

These are the results of a poll conducted by the Razumkov Center and commissioned by the "Dzerkalo Tyzhnia" weekly. According to the survey, 43.9% of Ukrainians believe that the time for peace talks with Russia has already come, while 35% disagree. Another 21.1% were undecided.

In the regional context, 49% of respondents from the central regions would be positive about the start of official negotiations with Russia. In western Ukraine, 35% of respondents are ready for negotiations. In the east of the country, 33% support the negotiations, and 34% do not. The highest percentage of readiness for negotiations was recorded in the south of Ukraine – 60%.

At the same time, the vast majority of respondents believe that Ukraine should not agree to Putin's conditions for ending the war. In particular, 83% of Ukrainians do not agree with the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the administrative borders of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions, and 84% are against the transfer of these regions to Russia.

In addition, 77% of respondents do not support the lifting of all Western sanctions against Russia.

The survey was conducted from June 20 to 28, and 2027 respondents aged 18 and older took part in it. The theoretical sampling error does not exceed 2.3%.
