Collaborator Filiponenko was eliminated in Luhansk

On November 8, another collaborator met a tragic end in the temporarily occupied Luhansk. This individual was a known traitor, a "deputy of the People's Council of the LPR," and the former head of the "people's police," Mykhailo Filiponenko.

This information is reported by Russian propagandists. According to them, the collaborator was blown up in his car. Later, the Main Intelligence Directorate confirmed the elimination of Filiponenko and disclosed the details of the special operation.

On the morning of November 8, Russian state propaganda outlets began circulating reports about the "tragic death" of the well-known collaborator Filiponenko in the temporarily occupied Luhansk. The primary source for this information was cited as a message from another "Deputy of the People's Council of the Luhansk People's Republic," a certain Yuriy Yurov.

"An hour ago, our colleague, a deputy of the People's Council of the Luhansk People's Republic, former head of the Luhansk People's Republic Joint Centre for Monitoring and Coordination of Issue, former head of the Luhansk People's Republic People's Militia Department, a man who played a significant role in the establishment of the people's militia of the republic, Colonel Mykhailo Yuriiovych Filiponenko, tragically passed away in Luhansk," Yurov wrote.

He also noted that the former 'people's police' leader had previously survived an assassination attempt: On February 21, 2022, the Occupied Regions of Luhansk claimed that "his car was blown up near the building of the Luhansk People's Republic representative office in the Joint Centre for Monitoring and Coordination of Issue." The collaborator had escaped unharmed.

Yurov did not provide a reason for the "tragic death" of the collaborator, which was later provided by TASS propagandists.

"Former head of the Luhansk People's Republic People's Police Department Filiponenko was killed in a car bombing - Luhansk Information Center," the statement reads.

According to journalist Denis Kazansky, Filiponenko has joined the growing list of traitors who played a pivotal role in the creation of the Luhansk People's Republic terrorist group by Russia and apparently possessed sensitive information.

"It's like some sort of epidemic. 'Luhansk People's Republic prosecutor' Gorenko was blown up by 'Ukrainian saboteurs' right in his office. 'Luhansk People's Republic Interior Minister' Kornet was blown up in a barbershop. He survived but mysteriously disappeared, with no further information about him. Now, another member of this merry group has 'tragically passed away'," he wrote.

The Russian occupier Yegor Guzenko, known by the call sign "Thirteenth", indirectly implied that he couldn't recall anything positive about the "tragically killed" Filipenko. He also suggested that the individuals responsible for planting explosives under the collaborator's car might not be found in territory controlled by Ukraine but much closer to the scene.

"Today, Mikhail Yurievich Filiponenko has moved on to the next world. I won't speak kindly or harshly about the deceased. There is nothing to say about him. I could argue about who was behind his bombing, but I won't" - the occupier wrote.

Later, the Main Intelligence Directorate disclosed that the special operation to eliminate Filipenko was conducted in cooperation with the resistance movement. The collaborator was a war criminal, having been involved in the establishment of torture chambers in the Luhansk region and personally engaging in acts of torture.

Reports on social media suggest that before the Russian aggression in 2014, Filiponenko held a minor position within the Party of Regions. However, he quickly turned traitor.

"Filiponenko is a textbook example of a traitor to Ukraine. Born in 1975 in Luhansk, he graduated from Kyiv National University of Civil Engineering and Architecture and unsuccessfully ran for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine as a member of the New Politics party. Since 2014, he served in the so-called 'People's Police of the Luhansk People's Republic' and participated in hostilities, holding the rank of 'artillery colonel.' Starting in 2017, he acted as the head of the Luhansk People's Republic People's Militia Department. In September 2023, he was elected as 'a deputy of the People's Council of the Luhansk People's Republic and became the head of the Luhansk Donetsk People's Republic faction.' He was married with two children," journalist Yuriy Butusov wrote.

The collaborator went by the call sign "Khottabych".

Previously, it became known that a well-known Russian neo-Nazi, an associate of another neo-Nazi known as "Tesak," was killed near Avdiivka. In 2022, this occupier had been sentenced to 16 years in prison for the murder of two migrants "on the grounds of ethnic hatred." However, without serving a year of his sentence, he went to Ukraine to fight as part of the Russian Storm-Z unit and was killed during shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to his relatives, the body of the neo-Nazi has never been found.
