Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has responded to a telephone conversation between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. According to him, contact with the Kremlin leader threatens to return to the Franco-German-Normandy format.

Johnson emphasized that this format views Russia and Ukraine as equal interlocutors. He stated this on the social network X.

The former British prime minister noted that attempts to establish cooperation with the Russian dictator can be seen as a shameful betrayal of reality.

He also added that only a large-scale and rapid strengthening of Ukraine's positions will help put an end to the Russian-Ukrainian war.

"Putin has launched a criminal and unjustified invasion, while Ukraine is an innocent party. The only way to end this war is for Ukraine to strengthen its positions on a large scale and quickly," Johnson said.

As a reminder, on November 15, the first telephone conversation between Scholz and Putin in the last two years took place. The Russian dictator used this conversation to try to influence the German government and other Western countries to support Kyiv.

Earlier it was reported that Putin continues his campaign to influence the West. He seeks to force Ukraine's Western partners to put pressure on our country by reducing military aid and insisting on negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow.
