On the night of October 9, explosions were heard in the Russian city of Karachev, Bryansk region. "Cotton" visited the 67th weapon depot of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Defense Ministry, where, among other things, ammunition from the DPRK and guided bombs were stored.

This was reported by Telegram channels, after which the information was confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is noted that the arsenal is located near a city of 20,000 people, 114 km from the border with Ukraine. The total area of the warehouse is about 3.5 square kilometers.

The attack was carried out by units of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces. According to the Ukrainian command, a significant portion of the ammunition was stored in the open.

"Explosions were recorded on the territory of the facility. Local authorities are known to have blocked the road near the arsenal. The results of combat operations are being clarified," the General Staff said.

They also explained that the destruction of such arsenals creates serious logistical problems for the Russian army. This, accordingly, significantly reduces the offensive potential of the occupiers in threatened areas.

In the morning, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that it had allegedly prevented attempts by "the Kyiv regime to carry out terrorist attacks using aircraft-type UAVs."

"Air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 47 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles. 24 UAVs were shot down over the territory of the Bryansk region, 5 UAVs were destroyed over the territory of the Belgorod region, 2 UAVs in the Kursk and Rostov regions, one in the Krasnodar region and 13 over the Azov Sea," the Russian terrorist agency said in a statement.

According to the Telegram channel "Mykolaiv Vanek," the strikes were set off at the GRU's weapon depot by fighters of 14th separate regiment of unmanned aerial vehicles.

"An unknown number of boards codenamed "Vanek" were used (It was not me who named it)," the channel's author said.

Russian authorities traditionally conceal the incident at the GRU warehouse. The Emergencies Ministry's report said it was a "municipal emergency due to the detonation of explosive objects." However, no one officially talks about the drone attack on the ammunition storage facility.

As a reminder, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that during the two weeks from September 23 to October 6, they took at least 13 enemy headquarters or command posts. In addition, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed several Russian warehouses with ammunition and fuel, and lubricants.

"The Russian army visited the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions of Ukraine, but most of the explosions were on the territory of the Russian aggressor state.
