A Russian military involved in the shooting of Ukrainian prisoners of war was captured in Kursk region: now he complains his command. Video
The Ukrainian Defense Forces captured a Russian serviceman in Kursk region who was involved in the shooting of Ukrainian prisoners of war. Yevgeny Ulantsov from the 40th Marine Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces, who is only 21 years old, said he wanted to serve as a medic but was thrown "for meat." According to him, Russian commanders order to shoot prisoners.
Ukrainian journalist Andrii Tsaplienko reported on the capture of Ulantsov. He also posted a video of the prisoner's interrogation.
Private, senior rifleman Ulantsov Yevhen Mykolayovych said that he came to fight against Ukraine from the Russian city of Novosibirsk.
His date of birth is July 4, 2003. He serves in the 40th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces, first brigade, first battalion, first platoon.
He signed the contract only on December 10, 2024.
"My friend and I were talking, he could negotiate with the commander for me, that I had a crust, a medical degree, that I would go as a medic. But they stupidly threw me for meat after we reported that we had two hundred wounded. They just said: "Stay put, don't move. Help will come to you, and you will be evacuated". This help never came," the occupier complained.
Ulantsov took part in the shooting of Ukrainian prisoners of war – according to him, it is the commanders who give the relevant orders.
The prisoner also confirmed the fact that this is a deliberate Russian policy, Tsaplienko said.
"He saw two Ukrainian soldiers and shouted to them: 'Drop your weapons.' They threw down their weapons. I contacted the commander and reported that there were two Ukrainian servicemen. And the commander, apparently, in all the commotion, with everyone shouting, did not understand my words and told me to open fire," Ulantsov admitted during interrogation.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, on January 3, the occupiers shot three Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Vremivsk direction in Donetsk region, near Neskuchne. The Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers voluntarily surrendered, but the war criminals tied them up and killed them with shots to the back of the head.
On January 6, the DIU released an intercepted conversation between Russians in which the commander of one of the units gives a criminal order to kill a captured Ukrainian soldier with the words: "Zero him out." It is known that the occupier serves in the 60th separate motorized rifle brigade of the 5th Army of the Russian Armed Forces.
