"The West is rotten people!" Russian official lashes out at IOC with insults

President of the Sambo-70 Sports and Education Center Renat Laishev was furious about the conditions for the admission of Russian athletes to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The accomplice of Vladimir Putin's dictatorial regime sees no point in Russian athletes participating in the tournament.

Layshev said this in a commentary to the Sport24 portal. The official insulted the leadership of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), accusing it of humiliating Russians, and expressed confidence that athletes from the aggressor country should compete in the so-called Friendship Games, which are planned to be held in Russia on Putin's orders. Ukrainians were cynically invited to the competition.

"There is only one point to our athletes' trip to Paris - from the IOC's point of view, to humiliate Russia once again and mock us. We have already seen that the West is rotten people! Our athletes will make the right choice. We understand that the Olympics is a chance for them at a certain stage in their lives, and there can be no other such opportunity. But Russia is doing its best to have alternative competitions where Russian athletes would show themselves without humiliation, with the flag raised, the national anthem sung, and their uniforms on. The Friendship Games are an option for them," Laishev said.

Earlier, acting Minister of Sports of Ukraine Matvey Bidniy called the IOC's decision to allow Russians to participate in the 2024 Games irresponsible and also named the condition under which our country will boycott the Olympics. The Russian Federation also reacted angrily to the conditions of athletes' admission to the competition.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the International Athletics Federation announced the complete suspension of Russian athletes from the Olympics in Paris.
