"The Ukrainian is too smart": Russia names Fury's problem in rematch with Usyk

Drozd appreciated the rematch between Usyk and Fury

Former world champion Grigorii Drozd advised Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) to act as number one in his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs). According to the Russian, the Gypsy King, as the British boxer is called, must do so to cover the defeat in the first fight.

Drozd said this in a commentary to the propaganda outlet Russia Today. The representative of the aggressor country noted that Usyk has an incredibly high boxing IQ, so it is useless for Fury to build tactics around one knockout punch.

"The Briton has to assert his rights to the belts in a champion's way. If he does this, he will be a serious competitor to his opponent. And if he sits back, he will lose again. The Ukrainian is a very smart and disciplined boxer. Just waiting for him and trying to catch him with one punch is a bad idea. It is clear that Fury is always capable of knocking out an opponent. We understand that such an outcome is possible. But it's pointless to build tactics for a fight based on a lucky punch. You can't go into the ring thinking about one good shot," said Drozd.

Recall that in the first fight, Usyk defeated Fury by split decision - 114:113, 113:114, 115:112 - and became the absolute world heavyweight champion.

A month after the fight, the Ukrainian was forced to give up the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt, which Anthony Joshua (26-3, 23 KOs) and Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs) fought for on September 21.

Later it became known that the IBF left Usyk no choice. This situation angered the head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Dana White. The Ukrainian himself commented on his decision for the first time. Fury and Usyk will rematch on December 21. The fantastic prize money for the second fight is already known.

Our compatriot shared his expectations from the second fight with Tyson and responded to the accusations of cheating during the fight with Fury on May 18. In addition, Oleksandr commented on the injury he received in the fight.

The Ukrainian announced his radical plan to continue his career after the rematch with Tyson. Usyk named the most difficult moment of the fight with the Briton. Our boxer also spoke frankly about his opponent.
