Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko has instructed the Russian Ministry of Sport to draw up a plan for the development of the Shakhtar football club in the 'Donetsk People's Republic' and ensure its participation in competitions under the auspices of the Russian Football Union (RFU), RIA Novosti reports. The creation of the so-called real Shakhtar in the 'republic' became known in early June last year.

Representatives of the Ministry of Sport, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and other interested agencies took part in a meeting on the development of the "new regions of the Russian Federation".

Russian fans ridiculed the decision.

"It will be a pure surrogate. It's ridiculous," "And you can also 'ensure the participation' of, for example, Barcelona, Juventus, the New York Yankees and PSG LGD in a bunch," users mocked.

Russians are shocked by what officials are doing to the country.

"I would never have believed that a country that was once one of the most read in the world could be reduced to the level of the Middle Ages in more than 20 years. Putin's doppelgangers, clones of football clubs... isn't it funny? This is Russia," fans write.

Russian football fans could not resist the opportunity to poke fun at the course of the war in Ukraine.

"Chernyshenko added at the end - 'after all the goals of the World Cup are achieved, in strict accordance with the plan'," the fans note.

Most people are convinced that this is all created solely for money laundering.

Following this decision, the RFU will receive a permanent ban from FIFA and UEFA.
