Peskov speaking about the IOC
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov is outraged by the conditions for Russian athletes to participate in the 2024 Paris Games, which were published by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) the day before. The spokesman for dictator Vladimir Putin accused the organization of violating the rights of Russian athletes and ruining world sports.
Peskov said this in a comment to the propaganda news agency TASS. The accomplice in Russia's war crimes against Ukraine also criticized the IOC for calling on national federations not to send their athletes to the so-called Friendship Games in Russia in September.
"We definitely have a negative perception of this. It is the destruction of the idea of Olympism, it is the restriction of the interests of athletes and Olympians. Of course, this is absolutely contrary to the entire ideology of the Olympic movement, and it does not make the International Olympic Committee look good. Any calls to boycott the Friendship Games? Negative, absolutely negative. Intimidation of athletes undermines the authority of the IOC," Peskov said.
Earlier, IOC President Thomas Bach spoke out against the so-called collective responsibility of Russian athletes for the war in Ukraine.
As OBOZ.UA reported, Russia has already started harassing athletes who agree to go to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris in a neutral status.
