Russian vice-champion of the Olympic Games said that "they won't invent anything" and "the victory will be for the great Russia".

Gennady Shipulin, vice-president of the All-Russian Volleyball Federation (VFV), criticized the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the conditions of admission of Russian athletes to competitions. He accused the IOC head, Thomas Bach, of hypocrisy towards representatives of the aggressor country.

Shipulin said so in an interview with Sport-Express. The vice-champion of the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney with the words "victory will be ours" added that Russia allegedly carries the truth, and soon its athletes will return to international tournaments, where they will win major awards.

"Bach declares this way and that way. All the same, the truth will prevail, and the victory will be for Russia! They won't invent anything. Unreasonable actions are committed by politicians in sports. The people are suffering. We will go out with our heads held high. I think everything will be fine, volleyball will always be at its best, like the entire Russian sport, like in all sectors of our great Motherland. You have to have a lot of faith, and hope, and educate the youth in the spirit of victory, and love for the Motherland," Shipulin said.

Recall that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended that international federations suspend Russian athletes related to the Russian army and security forces, as well as team sports. They should also not support the war in Ukraine. And IOC President Thomas Bach once again advocated the return of athletes from the aggressor country to world sport.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Olympic silver medalist Ilya Averbukh demanded the Russians' "freedom of speech and personality" after the IOC demands to condemn the war in Ukraine. And famous Russian commentator Dmitry Guberniev expressed confidence that Russia will not be allowed to participate in the 2024 Olympics.
