Stepanova speaks out about the Olympics

Russian skier Veronika Stepanova, whose intelligence has been compared by fans to a washing machine, has expressed an absurd opinion about the overestimation of the Olympic Games. The Beijing 2022 champion called on the authorities of the aggressor country to create a competitor to the main sporting events.

Stepanova wrote about this for the website of the propaganda TV channel Match TV. The 23-year-old athlete noted that "the Olympics is a promoted brand, nothing more," without providing any reasoning for her opinion, and added that Russia, isolated from world sport, is "going in the right direction."

"We made idols out of Olympic champions ourselves. Prizes, gifts, attention. Believe me, I know what I'm talking about! The Olympics is a promoted brand, nothing more. People won't come to us now even for a million dollars. The key word is "now". Because one day they will. Our task at that time is to create a tournament that they will watch and envy. Everything is going in the right direction - our sport has big sponsors who can do everything and already know a lot. But we are still far from being a real competitor to the Olympics, and we need to work on it all year round," Stepanova said.

Earlier, the president of the Russian Gymnastics Federation (RGF) Vasily Titov was outraged that Ukraine had done everything to prevent Russian representatives from participating in the 2024 Olympics.

As OBOZ.UA reported, Russians worked as part of the jury at the 2024 Olympic Games in gymnastics and may have influenced the scores of Ukrainians.
