Argentine midfielder Pablo Ruiz of Real Salt Lake USA scored an incredible goal in Week 18 of the Major League Soccer (MLS) U.S. Championship. The 31-year-old from the San Lorenzo Soccer Academy was able to hit the DC United goal with a shot from his own half of the pitch.
On 41 minutes, Ruiz saw rival goalkeeper Tylor Miller far out of the gate and with an elegant "shot" sent the ball precisely behind his scruff.
That goal allowed Salt Lake to celebrate a 2-1 victory. The club is in seventh place in the MLS standings in the Western Conference.
It should be noted that in 2015 Ruiz won the silver medal at the South American Youth Championship in Paraguay. At the tournament, he played in matches against Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Brazil and twice against Uruguay and Ecuador. In the game against the Bolivians Pablo made a double.
The same year Ruiz participated in the World Junior Championship in Chile. At the tournament he played in matches against teams from Germany, Mexico and Australia.
