Ukrainian defenders made a breakthrough on the outskirts of Bakhmut, inflicting significant losses on the Russian occupiers. Thus, the Armed Forces of Ukraine created a foothold for a further counter-offensive.

Our attack aircraft advanced 2,000 metres in width and 700 metres in depth. This was reported by the press service of the 3rd separate assault brigade.

"The third assault brigade conducted offensive operations on the western outskirts of Bakhmut, creating a foothold for a further counter-offensive. The width of the breakthrough was 2000m and the depth was 700m," the statement said.

It is noted that Ukrainian defenders eliminated at least 50 invaders. Hundreds more soldiers of Putin's army were wounded. In addition, four Russians were captured.

At the same time, the enemy's reserves in this area were eliminated, including several Russian ammunition depots.

Soldiers of the 1st Assault and 1st Mechanised Battalions conducted successful assault operations.

 

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, after successful counterattacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine around Bakhmut, the occupiers began to try to intensify tactical offensive actions. Russian troops reinforced their forces in the city area to allegedly stabilise the situation.
