Most of all, Ukrainians want to defeat Russia

Only 5% of Ukrainians are against joining the EU and NATO, according to a national poll. The number of those who support joining these organizations is 78% and 77%, respectively, which is slightly less than in July.

The survey of 1000 respondents was conducted by the Rating Sociological Group on November 22-23. 78% of respondents said they would vote for Ukraine's accession to the European Union if such a referendum were held (in July, the number was 85%).

Only 5% of respondents were against it. Instead, the share of those who have not decided or would not vote has increased: 3% and 14% respectively.

Support for Ukraine's accession to NATO is also on a downward trend and stands at 77% (83% in July), according to the new poll.

Currently, the rate of support for joining NATO is at the same level as it was at the beginning of the invasion in March 2022, the researchers noted. At the same time, only 5% of respondents would not like Ukraine to join the Alliance, 15% would not vote and 3% are undecided.

The Rating group reported that there are no age differences. Women are more likely than men to demonstrate uncertainty (not going to vote or hesitate to answer) both regarding the EU and NATO membership. Respondents with the lowest incomes demonstrate the least support for the unions.

In each of the regions, the majority supports joining both unions, but the highest number of such supporters is recorded in Kyiv and in the West.

At the same time, 53% consider it unacceptable to join NATO only within the controlled territories. 40% strongly or rather support this idea: residents of the Western regions and Kyiv, as well as middle-aged people are relatively more likely to take such a step.

Residents of the East, Center, and South, as well as the oldest people, support this idea the least.

However, even among the supporters of Ukraine's accession to NATO, only 44% support this idea, while 51% are against it.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, according to the survey, about 45% of the population in Ukraine have a very negative attitude toward Russians, 27% - rather negative. The attitude towards Russians who oppose the war in Ukraine is mostly positive.
