"It's better to destroy the systems themselves": the Air Force told which missiles are the most difficult to shoot down

The spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Ihnat, said that it is difficult for the Air Defence to destroy the X-35U ballistic missiles launched from the Bryansk region. According to him, it is better to destroy the Bal missile system itself.

He said this on the Kyiv TV channel. The day before, the Russian occupiers moved Bal coastal missile systems to the Bryansk region.

They plan to use them to fire at Ukrainian cities in the north of the country. It is noteworthy that the missiles  in service with this coastal missile system have a range of up to 500 km.

According to Ihnat, it will be important for Ukrainian air defence to destroy these missiles, so it is better to destroy the systems themselves.

"Of course, these missiles fly fast and it is difficult to respond to them by any other means. The systems that can intercept ballistics can cope with them. Anti-aircraft systems are difficult. It is better to destroy the systems themselves rather than the missiles," he said.

It is worth noting that the system belongs to the 11th Coastal Missile and Artillery Brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, based in the village of Utash, Krasnodar Territory.

Although this division is designed to engage ships, the Bal coastal missile system has the same range and ability to fire at land targets as the Bastion coastal missile system, which uses the Oniks supersonic missile.

Earlier it was reported that on the night of 13 June, Russia launched a new attack on Ukraine.

At least two arrivals to Kharkiv were reported. However, Kryvyi Rih was particularly hard hit by the attack: a Russian missile hit a 5-storey building there. As of 13:00, it was reported that 10 people had been killed in the strike on Kryvyi Rih. An hour later, when search and rescue operations were completed, the death toll rose to 11.

The Russian Ministry of Defence called its latest war crime "strikes on military targets" and stated that "all targets were hit".
