The incidence of COVID among children in Kyiv has increased by 50%. This occurred after the holidays ended, and schoolchildren returned to school.

Valentyna Ginzburg, Director of the Health Department of the Kyiv City State Administration, reported this, as per Kyiv TV channel. Earlier, residents of the capital were encouraged to return to the mask regime.

"I would start with acute respiratory diseases and influenza. Last week, there were about 12 thousand registered cases, including influenza A and COVID. If we are talking about acute respiratory diseases, the incidence has increased. The incidence has increased more among the adult population," Ginzburg said.

The director of the department, discussing the incidence of coronavirus disease in Kyiv, pointed out that this trend has increased by 50% among children.

"If we are talking about COVID, there was a decrease in the incidence among adults and a 50% increase among children. Vacations are over, children have returned to school, and there has been an exchange of infections," Ginzburg summarized.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the World Health Organization (WHO) calls for continued compliance with the mask regime and social distancing to avoid COVID-19 infection. That is why Kyiv residents are advised to return to the mask regime in crowded places to reduce the risk of infection.
