A Ukrainian soldier with a service dog was forced to travel for about three hours in the vestibule of a car on an Intercity train. Representatives of Ukrzaliznytsia explained the situation by the company's rules.

The incident was reported on Instagram by volunteer Daria Bronska. The Ukrainian woman said: "I am ashamed that a military man is forced to stand in the vestibule."

The volunteer wrote about her outrage to the company's press service. They explained that according to the rules of UZ, animals above 45 cm at the withers cannot travel in Intercity. If it is a compartment car, a carrier is required for smaller animals, and for larger animals, a fully paid compartment and mandatory equipment (leash and muzzle) are required.

UZ agreed that the rules are outdated and work on updating them is ongoing, but it is not easy to do so – changes are made to the Cabinet of Ministers, which significantly slows down the process. At the same time, the company is studying the experience of foreigners in this matter.
