A man in Germany was vaccinated against coronavirus 217 times: what is the reason and what is known about the consequences

Researchers have checked the health of a man who received 217 coronavirus vaccinations in 29 months

A man who received a record number of Covid-19 vaccinations was found in Germany. In a little over two years, he received 217 shots.

The man explained his actions by "private reasons", and scientists began to check his condition after such "hypervaccination". The Guardian writes about this with reference to a study published in the journal Lancet Infectious Diseases.

The publication notes that a 62-year-old "hypervaccinated" resident of Magdeburg, Germany, received 217 coronavirus vaccinations in 29 months. The man explained his actions by "private reasons".

At the same time, scientists from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, having learned about the "record holder" from a newspaper article, became interested in how his body reacted to so many "immune attacks."

"Then we contacted him and invited him to undergo various tests in Erlangen. He was very interested in this," said Dr. Kilian Schober from the University's Department of Microbiology.

As it turned out, the man with a record number of coronavirus vaccinations showed no signs of infection. He also did not complain of any vaccine-related side effects.

The researchers who worked with the Magdeburg man received official confirmation of the 134 vaccinations he had received. The man was vaccinated with eight different vaccines.

The researchers also examined the results of the tests that the Magdeburg man had taken during his numerous vaccinations and examined blood samples taken from him during the vaccination process - and found no abnormalities.

"The observation that there were no noticeable side effects despite this extraordinary hypervaccination indicates that the drugs have a good degree of tolerance," Schober said.

The researchers claim that the man's immune system continued to function properly after so many vaccinations. And certain immune cells and antibodies against the virus that causes Covid-19 (Sars-CoV-2) were recorded in significantly higher numbers compared to people who received only three vaccines.

"In general, we found no signs of a weaker immune response, rather the opposite," said one of the researchers, Katarina Kocher.
