Since the beginning of the full-scale war, most Ukrainians have been doing their best to help our army to bring the victory over the Russian aggressor closer. People often give their last savings to help our defenders purchase the necessary equipment, vehicles or machinery.

In addition, children often become volunteers, and despite their age, they raise millions of hryvnias for the Armed Forces. OBOZ.UA decided to remind you how Ukrainians helped the soldiers bring the victory over Russia closer in 2023.

Millions of hryvnias for the Armed Forces from a nine-year-old boy

A young resident of the Lviv region, 9-year-old Yuriy Napora, has raised more than UAH 2.5 million at charity concerts for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The boy travels around Lviv region singing patriotic songs on the streets. The Sambir City Council said that the child helped to purchase a thermal imager for a soldier of the 82nd Air Assault Brigade, Yuriy Godomsky.

The boy performs in the towns and villages of Lviv region with his father. They choose their repertoire together, and make a conscious choice in favor of songs dedicated to the war.

Eight-year-old resident of Chernihiv raises money for a car for the Armed Forces

Another little Ukrainian, 8-year-old Serhiy Moroz from Chernihiv, raised money for a car for the intelligence of the operational command "North" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by singing Ukrainian songs. The vehicle cost 261 thousand hryvnias.

The boy said he was raising money for the car because he wanted to help the Ukrainian army bring the victory over the aggressor closer. To raise the entire amount, the child sang for 25 days.

It is worth noting that he handed over the keys to the vehicle to the commander of the "North" Joint Forces Command, Hero of Ukraine Major General Viktor Nikoliuk.

"Children are the most conscious part of our society. They better understand the threat as it is. Children are the driving force that helps our Armed Forces. It is thanks to them that we will win the victory and win a decent and bright future for them," the general said.

The author of the hit movie "Easter and Sausages" raised hundreds of thousands of hryvnias for the military

Five-year-old Ukrainian Matviy Brus, who became famous for his hit movie "Easter and Sausages," raised 800,000 UAH for the Armed Forces. This money was used to buy four SUVs for the soldiers. The boy raised the necessary amount together with his family.

In the spring of 2023, a video of a young farmer who simply decided to advertise his family's products for Easter went viral on social media and gained tens of millions of views.

Matviy from Cherkasy region gained his own audience, so he and his father decided to monetize it to help those who are defending Ukraine at the front.

In less than a year, the family raised a total of over UAH 800 thousand, which they used to buy four vehicles for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Matviy's family called on Ukrainians to unite, help each other, and especially to donate to the defenders so that Ukraine's victory could come as soon as possible.

Pensioner donates to buy a drone for Ukrainian soldiers

An 82-year-old woman in the Ivano-Frankivsk region donated her savings to help fighters in the Avdiivka sector. The money, which amounted to just 18,500 hryvnias, was used to buy a drone.

Yevdokiya Bychuk wants to win and calls for help for Ukrainian soldiers, especially during the Christmas holidays. The woman said she wants her example to inspire people to help their defenders even more.

81-year-old woman sells embroidered icons to help Ukrainian army

Neonila Borychko, a resident of the village of Pravdivka, Khmelnytskyi region, is an icon maker. She started embroidering when she retired. Now she wants to sell all her works: 22 large icons and 40 paintings, and donate the proceeds to Ukrainian soldiers.

The woman says she wants Ukraine to win as soon as possible. At the same time, she realizes that our defenders have a very difficult time at the front, so she wants to help the army with all her might.

She also emphasized that she would like to use the money from the sale of icons and paintings to buy thermal underwear for the defenders, as she understands the difficult conditions of service in winter.
