President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the reshuffle in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. He explained it by the need to strengthen the state's policy in various areas, including diplomacy.

Zelenskyy made the statement during a joint press conference with Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris. "I have already spoken about the reset of our Cabinet of Ministers. I am very grateful to the ministers and the entire Cabinet team who have been working for Ukraine for four and a half years, and some for five years," the Head of State said.

Now the government needs new energy, he said.

"Today we need new energy. These steps are connected with strengthening our state in various directions, and international policy and diplomacy are no exception," the President said.

Answering a question about the future of the dismissed officials, he said he could not predict what exactly a particular minister would do.

"There will be answers when they are offered certain positions. It is too early to talk about this today," Zelenskyy said.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the day before, Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin, Minister of Justice Denys Maliuska, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Ruslan Strilets, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba resigned.

On Wednesday, September 4, the Verkhovna Rada voted by a majority to support the resignations of Stefanishyna, Kamyshyn, Maliuska, and Strilets. Votes to dismiss the head of the State Property Fund, Vitalii Koval, and Deputy Prime Minister Vereshchuk failed. The vote to dismiss Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba was also interrupted.
