Zelenskyy to attend G7 summit and meet with Biden - President's Office

President's Office confirms Zelenskyy's meeting with Biden at G7 summit in Japan

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will leave Saudi Arabia for the G7 summit in Hiroshima, Japan. There, he intends to meet with US President Joe Biden.

This was announced by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, on the air of a national telethon.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to attend the G7 summit. Until recently, it was not known in what format he would speak there - online or live.

The head of the Presidential Administration, Andriy Yermak, confirmed that the Ukrainian delegation would fly to Hiroshima from Saudi Arabia and that Zelenskyy would personally join the meeting of the leaders of the world's largest economies on Sunday, May 21.

"Yes, I can confirm this," Yermak said during a telethon in response to a question about whether he could confirm that Zelenskyy would personally attend the G7 summit in Japan.

Yermak also gave a general outline of what Zelenskyy and Biden will discuss at the G7 summit.

"President Biden's message (about training Ukrainian pilots on F-16s - ed.), with whom the president will meet in the coming days, and I think that not only these issues, but also many other issues will be discussed in detail," Yermak said.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL:

On May 19, a three-day summit of the G7 countries - the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Canada, France, Japan, and the United States - started in Japan. The leaders began the event with a joint visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, which documents the devastation caused by the dropping of two atomic bombs on the country in 1945. The politicians also signed a statement calling on the Russian Federation to withdraw its troops from Ukraine.

In general, the G7 summit in Hiroshima, Japan, will raise the issue of support for Ukraine, which continues to fight desperately for its freedom and democratic values. After all, the city that suffered the heaviest bombing in 1945 has become a link to Ukrainian cities that have been under daily attack from the Russian occupiers since February 24, 2022.
