Zelensky compares Russia's and Ukraine's losses in the war: how many Ukrainian soldiers died. Video
The aggressor country Russia has irrevocably lost about 350 thousand military personnel in the war in Ukraine. At the same time, Ukrainian losses amount to more than 45 thousand.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan. The Ukrainian leader noted that this result is due to the combat medicine of our country.
In particular, according to Zelensky, in addition to 350,000 killed, another 50 to 70,000 occupants are considered missing. Also, the Russians "have about 600-700 thousand wounded," with the ratio of the latter being "about one to two."
"The invaders' field medicine is weaker than ours, and they do not bring the wounded back. If a person is wounded on the battlefield, they stay there. The estimates are roughly like this, but they are very clearly true," the president said.
According to him, Ukraine has lost 45,100 people in the war, and about 390,000 more are wounded.
"The number of wounded is higher than the number of dead, because there are people who were wounded. There are also people who were wounded and then returned to the battlefield and were wounded again. Therefore, the number of wounded is 390 thousand," Zelensky said.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, in January 2025, the Russian occupation forces set, although not an absolute record for personnel losses, but at least "reached" the second figure for the entire period of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine - 48,240.
The occupiers' losses in 2022 amounted to 92,920 people, in 2023 - 253,290, and in 2024 twice as many - 430,790.
