"We will have little chance of survival": Zelenskyy says US aid is crucial even after the war

Ukraine will have to rely on U.S. military assistance even after the war. At the same time, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is not interested in ending it.

This opinion was expressed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with NBC News' Meet the Press program. According to him, America's support plays a key role in the defense of our country and its future.

The Ukrainian leader does not even want to imagine the future of Ukraine without the partnership of the United States.

"It will probably be very, very difficult. And, of course, in all difficult situations, you have a chance. But we will have a low, very little chance to survive without US support. I think it is very important, critically important," he said.

The President expressed concern that if US assistance is cut off, Ukraine will be vulnerable to new Russian attacks in the future.

He also emphasized that Putin never had the intention to end the war - he only wants a temporary ceasefire to regroup his troops and "strip off" international sanctions.

"This is what he really wants. He wants to get a pause, prepare and train more soldiers, lift some sanctions due to ceasefire, and so on," Volodymyr Zelenskyy summarized.

As a reminder, in early February, the President of Ukraine said that the US contribution to Ukraine's defense capability is about 30%. The termination of US aid is a big risk for both Ukraine and European countries.

As reported, according to US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and dictator Vladimir Putin should hold direct talks, during which both sides should "give up something." At the same time, he assured that America would not negotiate with Russia without Ukraine.
