The South Korean president plans to lay a wreath at a monument to war dead before a summit meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"The visit concludes a two-stage trip during, as he earlier visited Lithuania for a NATO summit and then paid an official visit to Poland," the statement said.
In turn, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine said that Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin showed Yun Seok-Yeol and his wife the crime scenes of the occupants in Bucha. He thanked the South Korean president for his strong position and emphasized that the world had no right to tolerate large-scale attacks on civilians.
"Ukraine appreciates South Korea's support in the international arena, particularly in the UN, and support for President Zelensky's peace formula. Today we visited Bucha to see with our own eyes the consequences of Russia's terrorist tactics to kill Ukrainian civilians. All kinds of war crimes have been committed here during the 33 days of Bucha occupation," the Prosecutor General said.
Volodymyr Zelensky later reported about the meeting with his South Korean counterpart. He noted that this was the first visit of the South Korean president in the history of relations between the two countries.
Acording to Zelensky, they discussed "everything that is important for the normal and safe life of people, for a rule-based international order".
"The return of deported adults and children, the implementation of the peace formula and the preparation of the Global Peace Summit, food and energy security and economic cooperation ... I am confident that together we will give more strength to our peoples and the global positions of Ukraine and the Republic of Korea," the head of state said.
