Petro Poroshenko, who is currently in Washington, D.C., met with Kevin Covert, Director of the Department of Eastern European Affairs, at the U.S. State Department.

This was reported by the press service of the European Solidarity party.

"We discussed in detail the approaches to further strategy and coordinated our positions on the eve of the expected visit of the US Special Representative for Ukraine Keith Kellogg to Europe, including Ukraine. We agreed on the importance of adhering to the principle of "nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine," Poroshenko wrote on social media.

"Important attention was paid to strengthening Ukraine's negotiating position and the set of measures and concrete actions to be taken under the leadership of the United States and the United Europe," Poroshenko writes.

"Emphasized the continued importance of internal unity in Ukraine and strengthening the democratic stability of the state, including the priority of fighting corruption, independent judiciary and strengthening the rule of law," the fifth president notes.

Petro Poroshenko also spoke at the Interparliamentary Security Forum "Countering Malicious Actions of China, Russia and Iran" organized by Republican congressmen. The forum was attended by President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, foreign ambassadors, diplomats, American generals, and a large group of US congressmen from the Republican Party.

Poroshenko called on American allies to support a winning strategy for Ukraine.

In a speech at the Hudson Institute, a leading GOP think tank in Washington, the fifth president said that only peace through strength will bring about a stable security situation in Europe and the world. He called for strengthening Ukraine with weapons and imposing sanctions on Russia to prevent it from continuing the war.

Petro Poroshenko also took part in the National Prayer Breakfast.
