"Here's the thing": Vance called the US "the best security guarantee" for Ukraine and mentioned Biden. Video

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance continues to hope that Ukraine will sign a minerals agreement with the United States. He called giving Donald Trump's team an "economic advantage" the "best guarantee of security" for our country.

At the same time, Vance could not resist the traditional attacks on the previous administration of US President Joe Biden, as well as claims against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who "insulted" Trump, which has recently become a regular feature of almost every statement by US officials. Vance made these statements on the conservative Fox News channel.

Thus, Vance once again accused the Biden administration of the fact that the United States, as guarantors of Ukraine's security under the Budapest Memorandum, provided assistance to a state that had fallen victim to an aggressive full-scale Russian attack. At the same time, in his understanding, the Russian-Ukrainian war is a "conflict" in which, judging by the rhetoric of current US officials, there are no obvious culprits.

"And here's the thing. When you talk to representatives of the Biden administration privately, this is another example of a terrible situation. When you ask them, "What was the plan?" We're going to spend tens of billions of dollars, hundreds of billions of dollars in Ukraine, what's your plan? And they honestly told us, "We're just going to send them weapons as much as we can. And hope that eventually they will be able to turn the tide." Hope is not a strategy. Throwing money and ammunition at a terrible conflict is not a strategy. The only guy who has a strategy is the president of the United States, and everyone should follow his lead," Vance said.

Vance did not say what this mysterious strategy is, which is still manifested in putting pressure on an ally under attack and curtsies to the aggressor without making any demands on it. And the interviewer did not seem to be interested, because instead of clarifying, he began to describe what incredible benefits the decision to give up its mineral resources to the United States would bring to Ukraine.

Thus, the interviewer began to describe how he was "scared" by Zelenskyy, who said that a quick end to the war was impossible. According to him, the salvation of Ukraine is allegedly to conclude a deal with the United States on mineral resources, because, he says, this is the only way to rebuild the country after the ceasefire, to get "a strong US presence, and possibly European troops as well."

And Vance immediately picked up on this "acute" issue and began to develop the topic, briefly recalling how much the White House was offended by Zelenskyy's inappropriate respectfulness, from the point of view of the US Vice President.

"Yes, this is an important part of the deal. And the president knows this. Look, if you want to get real security guarantees, if you really want to guarantee that Vladimir Putin will not invade Ukraine again, the best security guarantee is to give the Americans an economic advantage in the future of Ukraine. This is a much better guarantee of security than 20,000 troops from some random country that hasn't been at war in 30-40 years. A security guarantee, but also an economic guarantee to rebuild Ukraine and ensure that America has a long-term interest. You won't do that if you come to the Oval Office, insult the president and refuse to implement his peace plan," Vance said.

Earlier it was reported that Trump had suspended military aid to Ukraine. In particular, according to first reports, this will affect the supply of missiles for Patriot air defense systems.

The Economist has already predicted that this will lead to the fact that most of Ukraine will suffer destruction similar to that of Kharkiv. This comes against the backdrop of Trump's demonstrative statements about the Russian-Ukrainian war, which begin with a statement of regret for the "millions killed in this horrible war."
