"Europe's position today determines its security tomorrow": Zelenskyy holds talks with Prime Minister of Croatia

On February 21, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković. During the conversation, the Head of State thanked the Croatian Prime Minister for his country's support for Ukraine, as well as for the recent decision on a new military assistance package.

At the same time, Zelenskyy emphasized that Europe's position today will determine its security in the future. The president himself provided details of the conversation.

"I had a good conversation with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and thanked him for Croatia's support for Ukraine and the recent decision on a new military aid package," Zelenskyy said.

He also noted Croatia's position on the need for clear security guarantees for Ukraine amid a possible ceasefire.

"It is important to maintain a common understanding of current events. We discussed the next steps and joint plans for the near future. Europe's position today determines its security tomorrow. We all need a lasting peace. We appreciate Croatia's firm position that a ceasefire is impossible without clear security guarantees. Thank you for your support," Zelenskyy emphasized.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Croatia announced the preparation of a new package of military and technical assistance to Ukraine.

At the World Economic Forum in Davos in late January, Plenković mentioned Ukraine in the context of EU enlargement, noting that Russian aggression had launched a process of changing this economic bloc.
