Ford is the fourth largest automaker in the world in terms of production after Toyota, General Motors and Volkswagen. Its cars have become synonymous with reliability, quality, and comfort. Ford will discontinue the Mondeo in 2022 and the Fiesta in 2023, and is preparing to withdraw the Focus next year, but some new products will soon appear in the European Blue Oval lineup.

Experts told us what additions to the lineup we should expect in the near future. Some of the novelties are really worthy of attention.

Ford Capri

The Ford Capri is back, but with updates. It will be a zero-emission coupe SUV based on the all-new Ford Explorer. The updates will concern some key body panels, a significant part of the interior and the platform, which is actually the Volkswagen Group's MEB architecture and is used in the Skoda Enyaq, VW ID.4 and many others.

Two versions of the Capri are now available for order. Both are powered by a 77 kWh battery, but the "Extended Range RWD" uses a single 282 hp electronic engine that provides a range of up to 900 km. "The Extended Range AWD has a twin engine and 335 hp, which allows it to accelerate to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, but limits the range to 560 km.

Ford Explorer

The new Ford Explorer competes in the midsize SUV segment with vehicles such as the Tesla Model Y, Renault Scenic, and the mechanically related Skoda Enyaq. It was the company's first model to use VW's MEB electric vehicle platform, the same as the Capri.

The Explorer offers a range of up to 600 km. Standard equipment includes a heated steering wheel and massage seats, climate control and a 15-inch touchscreen. The Explorer has a 450-liter trunk - larger than the Mach-E, but about 100 liters less than the ID.4.

Ford Mustang

The Mustang, which is likely to be the last gasoline version of the famous muscle car, is offered exclusively with a 5-liter V8 engine that produces 439 hp in base form and 446 hp in the high-performance Dark Horse version.

The new Mustang is available with both a six-speed manual transmission and a 10-speed automatic, and the manual comes standard with downshift control for perfect V8 exhaust. Other features include a mechanical limited-slip differential, adaptive suspension, and a fully modern interior with two large displays. The Dark Horse version received a different six-speed transmission from Tremec, unique suspension geometry, a Torsen limited-slip differential, additional chassis mounts, and Brembo brakes.

Ford Puma Gen-E

The Ford Puma is the best-selling car in the UK in 2023, so it makes sense that Ford would want to capitalize on its success and expand the appeal of its fantastic little SUV. The manufacturer will introduce an all-electric version.

Ford Ranger PHEV

The extremely powerful Ford Ranger is currently only available with a diesel engine, but a new hybrid version will also be available. The first-ever Ranger PHEV uses an 11.8 kWh battery, which Ford says is enough to run up to 50 km on pure electric traction, or it can be used to power tools and appliances - ideal if you're running out of electricity at the workplace. The maximum towing capacity of 3500 kg is also impressive, as it is the same as that of diesel models.
