"We couldn't be together. Don't even ask." Kharlan talks about her relationship with her Italian fiancé and preparations for the wedding

Olha Kharlan, a two-time Olympic champion, admitted that she does not yet know when her wedding to Italian fencer Luigi Samele will take place. The 34-year-old saber fencer also mentioned how preparations for the 2024 Games in Paris have affected the relationship between the partners.

Harlan spoke about this in an interview with Volodymyr Yaroslavskyi's YouTube channel. The most titled Ukrainian athlete in the history of the Olympics noted that she has now put her career on hold and decided to devote herself to her personal life, which will undergo serious changes.

"We have been together for 6.5 years. On the one hand, we feel each other very well. But before the Olympics, we sat together and couldn't spend time together. Because we are preparing for a very nervous competition. It was so tense... Now we are engaged. We are preparing for the wedding. We haven't decided when it will be yet, so don't even ask. The project is a family. I gave myself time. Now I want to give myself time for my personal life," Kharlan said.

Recently, Olha was shocked by the news of her death, which was posted on Facebook. Because of this, the saber fighter appealed to her compatriots and urged them to carefully check the information, because many people believed in the outright fake.
