Usyk's team named the condition under which the fight with Fury could be canceled
The fight between Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) and Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion can only be disrupted if the British fighter is injured in a fight against mixed martial arts fighter Francis Ngannou. At the same time, the outcome of the confrontation on October 28 is of no consequence for the battle between the Ukrainian and his rival from Manchester.
This was stated by Usyk's promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk in an interview with ProBox TV. According to him, the entire boxing community is looking forward to the fight between Usyk and Fury, which will be the first fight in history for four super-heavyweight championship belts at once. The show is scheduled for December 23.
"We have been waiting for this for so long. I hope Fury gets there without any injuries, whether he wins or loses to Ngannou, he will remain the WBC heavyweight champion. We are just one step away from the biggest heavyweight fight of this century. As far as I understand, Fury was satisfied with his contract to fight in Saudi Arabia, so he gave his consent," said Krasiuk.
Earlier, Fury made a dismissive statement about the fight with Usyk. The Ukrainian himself answered the question of how he intends to beat Tyson in an ironic style. And Oleksandr's ex-trainer Serhiy Vatamaniuk urged him to take the Briton seriously.
Promoter Bob Arum named a prerequisite for the fight. He also added that his ward would receive a 9-figure sum for the fight with the Ukrainian.
The media have found out that the fight will take place before the New Year or in January. Recently, the legendary Mike Tyson made his prediction for the superfight of the year. The International Boxing Federation (IBF) has put forward its demand for Usyk and Fury to fight.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, the World Boxing Organization (WBO) reacted to the organization of the fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury by naming a contender for the winner's title. And former world champion Andy Ruiz named the main problem of the Ukrainian's British rival.
