Russian One Championship world champion Anatoly Malykhin (14-1) suffered the first defeat of his career, losing his title. In the main event of the ONE 169 tournament, the 36-year-old native of Kemerovo lost a split decision to Senegalese Oumar Kane (7-1) at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The challenger started the fight confidently, successfully throwing several high kicks, and then moved the fight to the ground. The Russian was constantly trying to get out of the difficult situation, clinging to the ring ropes with his hands and eventually earning a yellow card from the referee.

The middle of the fight did not please the fans with bright punches. Both fighters clinched a lot, and demonstrated sweeping punches. After one, Anatoly hit Senegalese's face, leaving a cut near his left eye. In the 5th round, Kane managed to score another takedown.

After the fight, there was information that Anatoly Malykhin could get an immediate rematch with Oumar Kane. Thus, the second fight is expected to take place within six months.

For reference: One Championship is a multinational martial arts organization founded by Chatri Sityodtong and Victor Cui on July 14, 2011. Initially, ONE competitions were focused on mixed martial arts, and then Muay Thai, kickboxing, and submission wrestling were added.
