Unbeaten Ukrainian super heavyweight wins championship fight in the US
Our compatriot had a brilliant fight
WBC International super heavyweight champion Andrii Novytskyi (13-0, 10 KOs) has won another early victory in the professional ring. The 29-year-old native of Odesa defeated 33-year-old local boxer Sean Laughery (14-5, 8 KOs) at the Memorial Hall in Melrose, Massachusetts, USA, by unanimous decision.
The Ukrainian dominated the ring from the first minutes but failed to finish his opponent. The fight was not competitive although it lasted all 10 rounds. Andrii confidently won on the judges' scorecards: 99-91 and twice 100-90.
As reported, Andrii won his championship belt at the end of July this year. Our compatriot defeated 35-year-old local boxer Keith Rydell Mays Jr. (15-3, 14 KOs) by knockout.
Prior to that, Novytskyi scored his tenth professional victory, knocking out Juan Torres (11-6-1, 4 KOs) on the undercard of the Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou show (0-1, 0 KOs). USA.
On February 17, Novytskyi defeated 38-year-old local boxer Bobby O'Bannon (10-7, 10 KOs) by knockout.
