Ukrainians rushed to re-register their cars after a month-long pause in the work of the registries - more than 4,000 vehicles were registered in just one day. Due to the rush, there may be delays, so you should plan your visit in advance or use Diia to re-register.

This number is impressive, as the system's capacity is usually limited to about the same number of applications per day.

However, due to the pent-up demand caused by the month-long downtime of the registers, the number of applications for the service is now more than one and a half times higher than usual. According to experts of the Institute for Automotive Market Research, about 70 thousand applications, which were formed in December and January, are still pending. In order to eliminate the queue, the daily workload should increase to 6.8 thousand applications, which is much more than the usual amount of work.

Due to the high demand, there may be delays in service and temporary interruptions in the operation of the registers. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the physical limitations of the system's capacity are due to the number of employees and technical capabilities.

What to do if there are no coupons

Pre-registration through the electronic queue at the TCC is now becoming difficult due to high demand. However, there are alternative options:

  • re-registration through the Diia app: this method allows you to re-register your car remotely if the operation meets all the requirements;
  • waiting for the workload to decrease: experience shows that after the first days of excitement, demand gradually settles down.

Although re-registration through Diia is also subject to a load, it helps to avoid physical visits to the service center, saving time for buyers and sellers. An electronic queue and a gradual reduction in the workload at service centers are expected to help cope with the rush. It is important to keep in mind that the first days after the restoration of registries are always the most difficult, but the system adapts to the new level of demand.

As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, Ukraine now allows vehicles to be deregistered if they are temporarily not used, which allows concluding insurance contracts for shorter periods - from 15 days to five months. In addition, drivers can choose a postal operator to deliver documents, instead of the mandatory cooperation with Ukrposhta.
