The seventh day of competition at the Paralympic Games in Paris was rich in successes for Ukrainians

On Wednesday, September 4, the Ukrainian national team won four gold medals at the 2024 Paralympics. This allowed our team to gain a foothold in the 7th place in the overall standings. Our team has 52 medals (🥇13 + 🥈18 + 🥉21).

Andriy Trusov won the 50-meter freestyle in the S7 class (swimmers with physical disabilities). The 25-year-old native of the Kramatorsk district covered the distance in 26.38 seconds, updating his world record.

The Ukrainian team of Marina Piddubnaya, Oleksiy Virchenko, Hanna Stetsenko and Yaroslav Denisenko won the 4x100-meter freestyle relay. At the last stage, Denysenko outdistanced the Brazilian representative and brought the team gold.

"The Blue and Yellows lacked two seconds to repeat the world record (3:51.85), which they set in London in 2019.

Ukraine won a double podium in the 100-meter freestyle in the S12 class (swimmers with visual impairments). Yaroslav Denysenko became a Paralympic champion, and Maksym Veraksa won a silver medal.

Athlete Anastasia Moskalenko won the fourth gold medal for our country, winning the shot put final and setting a new world record of 8 meters.

In addition, Anna Stetsenko won silver in the 100-meter freestyle (class S12), winning her third medal of the 2024 Paralympic Games.
