"To make the term shorter": Rebrov reacts to Mudryk doping scandal for the first time

Ukraine's head coach Serhii Rebrov has expressed support for Chelsea midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk, who faces a suspension. The 23-year-old left winger is suspected of using banned substances, namely mildronate (meldonium).

In an interview with Tribuna.com, Rebrov noted that the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) is closely monitoring the situation around Mudryk. The Blue and Yellows coach noted that he highly appreciates Mykhailo and is counting on him soon.

"I've been in touch with him. Every player is very important to us, and Mykhailo is very upset about it. I don't want to go into details, there is nothing official now. Our position is that we will support the player and fight for him. And I just wish Mykhailo patience, so that he really understands that we support him and will do everything to make this period as short as possible because he is a very important player for the Ukrainian national team. Once again, every player of the Ukrainian national team is very important to us," Rebrov said.

It should be noted that Mudryk has already been suspended from Chelsea's matches and training sessions. In addition, it became known whether the Ukrainian national team could be disqualified for Mykhailo's participation in the Nations League matches.
