"This is not the place to remind about prisoners of war": a scandal involving a security guard of the Central Department Store occurred in Kyiv. Video
A scandal occurred in the capital's Central Department Store involving participants of the Free Azov action and a representative of the store's security service. The latter harassed several visitors because they were holding posters in support of the release of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
The video was posted on social media. The Central Department Store has already responded to the incident.
According to one of the participants of the Free Azov action, they went to the store to have coffee when a shopping center employee approached them and picked on the posters reminding them of prisoners of war, saying that this was "not the format of Central Department Store." According to him, a store is "not a place to remind about prisoners of war" because "reminders about people who are in captivity will not help them in any way."
For their part, the women said they were just drinking coffee and not approaching anyone with placards. After a short conversation, the security officer left.
It should be added that the Central Department Store has already responded to the incident, calling the security guard's actions completely unacceptable.
"The Central Department Store Kyiv team is deeply shocked by what happened and does not share the private opinion of the security officer. There are no rules that prohibit our visitors' right to freedom of speech. We consider the actions of the department store security officer to be unacceptable, and after an internal investigation, this employee no longer works at Central Department Store Kyiv. We constantly support projects created to support our Heroes and honor the memory of fallen soldiers. On behalf of the department store administration, we apologize for this situation and do our best to prevent this from happening in the future," the department store's press service said.
